ACCESS

The Alabama School System has recently put new technology into the high school's classrooms know as ACCESS. ACCESS stands for Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide. What ACCESS does it gives chances to high school students who do not have certain elective and school courses at their school to receive them via Internet from a different school who offers the course. It works by using technical tools to deliver sound courses through the Internet. Then it mix in with the Internet for Alabama Certified Teachers from the delivery school sites to the receiving schools.

The Alabama Legislature passed the Act# 2005-173 in order to have funds to develop and start ACCESS.By the summer of 2006 they wanted about 50% of the Alabama High Schools to have access to ACCESS and by 2007 to have all high school fully furnished with ACCESS. But as many people know that by this year of 2008 all school are not able to retrieve ACCESS in the classrooms.

I believe that once ACCESS has been established in all the high schools statewide that the program will be successful. It will teach students how to learn new technology and to also learn in a different environment. It will also give the chance for teachers have an effect on other student around the state of Alabama. With ACCESS i believe that its helpful and fulfilling to the Students and Teachers of Alabama.
